Keep the fire of learning alive this June with a North Phoenix Prep Summer Academy course! Our offerings range from enrichment courses and camps to our Independent Study for Credit Recovery.

Courses are subject to cancellation for insufficient registrations. All cancellations will be determined and communicated by May 21st.

On Campus Enrichment and Credit Recovery Courses

PRE-ALGEBRA CAMP Incoming 7th graders can prepare for Pre-Algebra by improving foundational math skills. Class time will include a combination of Khan Academy lessons and group problem-solving and discussions. June 4 – 21

INTERMEDIATE ALGEBRA* Incoming 8th graders and students recovering Intermediate Algebra can prepare for 8th grade Advanced Algebra. Class time will be divided between direction instruction, class discussion, and independent practice in the Khan Lab. June 4 – 21

ADVANCED ALGEBRA* Incoming 9th & 10th graders and students recovering Advanced Algebra can prepare for Geometry or Algebra II. Class time will be divided between direction instruction, class discussion, and independent practice in the Khan Lab. June 4 – 21

MIDDLE SCHOOL GRAMMAR INTENSIVE* A relaxing yet serious look at English grammar beginning with the absolute basics, all the way through diagramming compound-complex sentences. The course will benefit those seeking remediation of any concept, to those seeking to further master and engage meaningfully with grammar (useful not only for Middle School Lit-Comp, but with an eye toward preparing one to write competent essays).

**Students who are required to pass this course in order to promote to the next grade level will be required to complete a formal writing assignment as well as pass the final exam.

HIGH SCHOOL GRAMMAR INTENSIVE Incoming and rising high school students with keen interest or a lack of preparation in grammar will benefit from this course intended to build confidence and competency for the young writer and reader. Through sentence diagramming, writing exercises, and discussion, you will move beyond merely proper grammar to create a unique sense of style appropriate to the expectations of the High School Essay. June 4 – 22

SPANISH I/II* Incoming or rising 10th or 11th grade students will improve their Spanish foundations in an engaging total Spanish Immersion Class. Students will strengthen their Spanish fluency through songs, games, role playing, poems, reading and writing stories, and more. June 4 – 22

Independent Study for Credit Courses

The following courses meet the requirements for North Phoenix Prep Credit Recovery for the benefit of students transferring after the first semester of 9th grade or returning students who have not yet earned credit through successful completion of a course.

Students should anticipate investing a minimum of 50 hours for each semester (0.5 credits) of a course. All coursework must be completed and submitted by 7/30. Final Exams will be available on 6/21, 6/22, or 7/30.
